- Colour therapy, also known as chromotherapy, is classified as a vibrational healing modality. Colour is simply a form of visible light, of electromagnetic energy that radiates from the sun and it consists of seven different hues. All the primary colours reflected in the rainbow carry their own unique healing properties. Colour therapy is used to balance energy in the areas of our bodies that are lacking vibrancy, be it physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental.
- Colour is a vibrational energy that is reacted upon by our physical, emotional and etheric bodies. Each color has a specific frequency and vibration, it affects us physically when the vibration and frequency of each colour corresponds to the areas of our body which have the same frequency and vibration.
- When we are sick, our organs and glands may become out of balance and do not function at their proper frequencies. Since the frequency and vibration of the color is constant, it can tune that area of the body and help it restore its proper frequency and vibration, thus restoring balance.
- Colours have been used for healing purposes thousands of years ago by Egyptians, Greeks, and Chinese. This fact makes me wonder if the idea of making big coloured glass windows in very old churches and palaces was influenced by such knowledge and was designed for healing purposes or they were just an artistic style of that time.
